Visiting the people of Kirangare Lutheran Parish in Tanzania will change your life!
Zion's next visit to Kirangare Lutheran Parish is planned for September 2024. It is too late to travel with this group. In 2025, Zion plans to host visitors from Kirangare here in Iowa. The next visit will likely be 2026 or after.
Budget
$2,500 to $3,000 per traveler, depending on the cost of airline tickets and the safari. Zion fundraising and grants can lower this cost.
Time
Plan for 10 days in Tanzania, plus another day or two of travel to and from.
Transport
Travel will involve flying from Chicago to Amsterdam to Kilimanjaro International Airport in Tanzania. Then travel by car to Kirangare and to other in-country locations. And between Kirangare, Idaru, Mpare, and Marindi, walking and motorbike. Plan to get physically fit in the months before the trip.
Documents
You will need a valid U.S. passport and a Tanzanian visa. Travel insurance is highly recommended.
