Welcome to Zion’s Tanzania blog, a space to celebrate Zion’s companionship with Kirangare Lutheran Church in Tanzania. You may not be traveling to Kirangare with Joe and I (Pastor Clark), but you can participate too.

Bookmark and check in here regularly during the trip—September 12 through 25, 2022. Whenever we have access to wifi, which could be more often than you think, we will post photos and other updates.
Pray
Pray for the people of Kirangare and for Pastor Simon Fue and his family. Pray for our safe travels. Pray all of us are lovingly open to give and receive what the Spirit intends, most especially to the great gift of this renewal of relationship in Christ.
Learn Swahili
Download the free Duolingo app, like I did. After 5 short minutes, I learned how to say, “I’m American.”
Check out the Map
From Kilimanjaro International Airport, we’ll travel to Same to meet the Bishop of the Pare Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania, before going on to Kirangare. You can find an interactive map here.
Kirangare, Tanzania is 8 hours ahead of us here in Davenport, Iowa. So noon here is 8pm there, and 10pm here is already the next day there, 6am!
