Community members from across the Quad Cities gathered at Zion the night of Thursday, December 19 for the annual Homeless Memorial service.
At this memorial, on (nearly) the longest night of the year, we remember the homeless neighbors who died on the street in the past year. We also remember housing advocates who died. We say each name and ring Zion's big bell.
This year, Zion's bell tolled 29 times, including for nine homeless veterans and three housing advocates.
